Nendran Banana or Musa paradisica(Botanical name) is specific variety used both for cooking and as dessert bananas. Nendran is good sources of potassium, calcium, phosphorus and nitrogen and helps in digestion. This snack is a popular Kerala recipe and definitely yummy!
Preparation
- To prepare batter, mix the wheat flour, rice flour, sugar with a pinch of salt
- Add sufficient water to make it a loose consistent paste
- Slice the Banana (Ripe - almost dark yellow) into long vertical pieces
With sliced banana and smooth batter you are ready to fry
Fry
- Add Coconut or vegetable oil to a frying pan.
- Dip the banana slices into the batter and drop it into the hot oil.
- Turn around sides to fry it consistently on both sides until dark golden brown .
- Transfer to a plate with tissue sheets to absorb excess oil.
