Modak Filling

  1. Heat a pan, add ghee and then shredded coconut to it. Fry it till pale brown.
  2. Add Jaggery to this and then Cardamom powder
  3. Stir it till Jaggery melts and becomes sticky




Modak dough

  1. Add Ghee to the rice powder and mix it with hot water.
  2. Add sufficient water to make it semi solid consistency




Modak Moulding

  1. To a dumpling mould apply some oil and then spread the dough
  2. Slowly extract the dumpling out of the mould.
  3. Place the dumplings in a steamer for about 10 to 15 minutes until its cooked
Everybody's favorite Indian traditional dumpling is now ready!  Try it with different fillings.
