Welcome to this episode of preparing Fish Biriyani using Basa fillet.
- Marinate the cleaned and sliced fish with Salt, Turmeric and chilly powder.
- Leave it in the refrigerator for about 30 to 40 minutes.
- Now shallow fry or Grill your fish till its cooked for about 15 minutes. Don't over cook so that fish doesn't mix with rice. It should be firm.
Prepare fish gravy
- Heat oil in a pan and add Aniseed, after a minutes add onion and fry until brown.
- Now add the ginger, garlic, chilly paste. Add tomato after a minute (after the paste mixes well with onion).
- As the tomato gets cooked, add turmeric, corainder powder and bit salt to the mix. Mix it well for a minute.
- At this stage add one table spoon curd and one lemon juice to the mix and stir it for some time.
- Take a small portion of the gravy to mix with rice and cook.
- Add fried fish to the masala. Cover the fish pieces in the masala and leave it for couple of minutes.
Move to next step to prepare rice
Prepare the final mix with the rice
- To the frying pan add some ghee, Aniseed, cloves, Cardamon and Cinnamon and roast it. Add the roasted ingredients to the cooking pan, add rice, some salt, coriander, mint leaves and 1 table spoon lemon juice. Cook it until half cooked.
- Add a portion of the masala and cook further.
- Once cooked add remaining masala, few spoon ghee and steam or give dum for 5 to 10 minutes.
Now your Biriyani is ready to serve.
